Founded in 2019, the Lerato Community Initiative was created to address systemic inequities affecting Black and mixed-heritage youth. We recognize the unique challenges these young people face and are committed to empowering them through tailored life coaching, mentoring, and skills development programs. Our mission is to provide the necessary support, guidance, and opportunities that enable them to thrive in all aspects of life.

At Lerato Community Initiative, we offer a range of dynamic and inclusive programs, including mentoring initiatives, leadership workshops, skills-building courses, and engaging holiday camps, both online and in person. These programs serve as safe spaces where young people can build confidence, develop resilience, and access meaningful employment pathways. To date, we have proudly engaged with over 7,800 young people across Lambeth and Greenwich, equipping them with the tools to navigate challenges, embrace their potential, and succeed in life.

As a trauma-informed and restorative justice-driven organization, we believe in the transformative power of community, healing, and personal growth. We understand that every young person has unique strengths and aspirations, and we strive to create an environment where they feel valued, heard, and empowered. Our approach is rooted in fostering self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and long-term well-being, ensuring that young people not only achieve their goals but also develop a strong sense of identity and purpose.

Through strategic partnerships with schools, local authorities, businesses, and community organizations, we work collaboratively to dismantle barriers to success and create sustainable change. Our dedicated team of mentors, educators, and advocates are passionate about ensuring that no young person is left behind.
